Yesterday was an Angels L away from being complete chaos.
Jake McGee blew a save in the ninth inning to destroy my first bet of the day, Luis Robert forgot how to stand to destroy the next one and the Phillies couldn't garner any run support in a prime opportunity for a win to destroy the third bet.
Anyway, I have four more today that will hopefully turn this week around. Let's dive in!
MLB
Tigers F5 ML +100
It has turned into a thing where whenever the Tigers play a lefty and they aren't up against some juggernaut of a team, I take them first five because that should be enough time to get a lead and not enough time for the bullpen to blow it.
Although the Tigers haven't played Jose Quintana yet (maybe he's built different), they have been absolutely crushing lefties, and Quintana is a pitcher that gets exposed against any team for that matter.
As long as Matt Manning doesn't give up too many runs and he keeps the lead safe, I expect this to be a painless dub.
The Angels struggling against right-handers helped a little too in my decision making.
Astros -1.5 -110
The Astros can't get swept by the Royals right? ...Right?
Well, for this game, I'm basically betting on the team's pride among other things.
Luis Garcia is taking the mound for the Astros against a squad that has a record of 32-49 against righties.
With that information, I expect Kansas City to struggle putting up runs, and it'll be all up to if the Astros' bats want to show up today (better late than never!)
Not like it matters either because it obviously hasn't meant anything in the last three games, but the Royals are also 31-50 in games where they are the betting underdog.
What goes up must come down, and I expect Kansas City to make a crash landing back to Earth today after this unexpected run they've been on.
White Sox ML -153
I am ONCE AGAIN on a game in this series!
Why, do you ask? Well, the A's pitcher that got scratched from last night's game (Cole Irvin) is now pitching this afternoon.
I'm going to quickly repeat everything I said yesterday because I don't think you need to hear it again, but the White Sox are 42-21 at home, 21-12 against lefties and 61-33 as a betting favorite. Oakland is also 15-20 as a betting underdog and worse against right-handed pitchers (Dylan Cease is pitching today).
After not covering the run line last night, I hope to get my first win in this series!
Phillies F5 -0.5 -125
Having the same energy as the Astros pick, the Phillies can't get swept by the D-backs right? ...Right?
Well, I went first five for this bet because I expect the Phillies to come in pissed and score at least a few runs right off the bat. Their bullpen is also near the bottom of the league in ERA, so I didn't want to give them the chance to blow it.
Zach Wheeler is pitching for Philadelphia too, and I expect him to pitch as he usually does: fantastically.
That's it for today! Let's right this ship and make some money!
