Matt's Picks of the Day (1-2 week; 21-24 overall)

Happy Tuesday! I apologize for the lack of a post yesterday as I was enjoying my Labor Day by taking some time off!

As for my Monday picks, I started off feeling VERY confident as the Red Sox were up by six runs early. Then, well, you know what happened...

The Dodgers pick was easy because they haven't lost coming off an L in the last month and a half! That would have been my lock of the day ESPECIALLY with Max Scherzer on the mound for Los Angeles.

I then took the Angels in a fade of the Rangers. They got the job done pitching wise, as I expected, but dropped the ball on offense by putting up a goose egg in the final box score.

Today, I'm back with three more picks and, hopefully, three more winners.

I also can't wait to bet more college football because that was one of the lone bright spots for me last Friday.

Let's goooooo!

MLB

Royals ML -121

The Royals on the road is scaring me a tad, but taking anyone against the O's with favorable pitching is worth it to me!

Kansas City's ability to hit left-handed pitching is one of the lone bright spots for them this season, and Alexander Wells is getting the nod for tonight's game. Coming in with one win on the year and a 7.71 ERA, I think the Royals will have a blast hitting against this guy.

The Royals are also winners of three of their last four games (including a series win over the White Sox)! Picking a hot team with the opposing pitching in their favor? Sign me up!

Brewers ML -105

I like Milwaukee here and I love them even more coming off an embarrassing 12-0 shutout last night.

The Brewers are known for having success against right-handed pitchers, and while Aaron Nola isn't some kind of scrub I enjoy betting against, he really does drop the ball on the road.

Over his last six road starts, he has a 3-3 record while allowing 24 runs over the same time frame, good for four runs per game!

Milwaukee may (weirdly) be more of a road team, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them match or exceed that four-run average.

To make things sound even better, the Phillies are a terrible road team and struggle against lefties (Eric Lauer is pitching).

Take the Brewers!

Athletics ML -125

The Athletics aren't exactly a team begging to be bet on after getting swept by the Blue Jays, but there is a trend for this game that I simply cannot ignore.

The White Sox are 9-20 as betting underdogs, which is the case tonight. They are also much more average against right-handed pitching compared to left-handed pitching (James Kaprielian is starting).

Additionally, Chicago is rolling with Jimmy Lambert to start this one, and he allowed four runs in his one and only appearance on the year.

I trust the trends, I trust the situation, I trust the A's!
